1 The Baksteen (Brick) Cycling route
Whizz on two wheels through the Rupel region, where once-successful brick-making villages nestle beautifully in the landscape. Along the 39 kilometres you can see how small industrial villages like Hemiksem, Boom, Schelle and Niel fought back after the demise of the brick industry. Aartselaar Castle is also on your way, just like the country village of Reet.
The dykes beside the Scheldt and Rupel seem endless. And that's not what you want. After all, cycling here is about stopping to relax and enjoy the peace and magnificent nature. See you in De Schorre in Boom, where this route begins!
