Onto the deck with Rederij Rivertours
The most picturesque places on the Scheldt and Dender can be seen from the water. Rivertours organises your ideal trip along the most natural part of the region: the Noordelijk Eiland, Rupelmonde and Temse as far as Sint-Amands. You board in Aalst, Baasrode, Dendermonde, Ghent, Hamme, Merelbeke, Schelle, Schellebelle, Sint-Amands, Willebroek, Temse or Rupelmonde. The breathtaking views of mudflats and salt marshes, creeks and inlets will leave you speechless.
Prefer a personalised boat trip? They can do that too. Their ships suit company and private events, can sail or stay put at the quay, and accommodate between 20 and 300 guests.
Every Sunday afternoon, you can climb aboard in Temse and enjoy a delicious cold meal, pancakes or some tart on the outside deck, as you take in the typical views of the Scheldt villages and sparkling river. Romantic for two or fun for the whole family, because the children can explore the ship to their heart's content. Your guide shares the story of the region and its inhabitants, its traditions and culinary secrets, and tells you about the eternal battle with flooding, and the beautiful nature areas.
The combination of cycling and sailing is a winner. Along rivers and canals you'll find a whole host of signed cycling routes and stretching tow paths, allowing you to put your cycling skills to the test.
